ORTHODOX DOGMATIC THEOLOGY is a book written with one purpose: to inspire, to warm the heart, to lift one above the petty preoccupations of earth in order to glimpse the divine beginning and end of all things. This has always been the purpose and intent of theology; to give one the energy and encouragement to struggle towards God and our heavenly homeland.

The author, Fr. Michael Pomazansky, was one of the last living graduates of a pre-Revolutionary Russian thelological academy. After completing his degree at Kiev academy in 1912, he laboured as a missionary priest both in his homeland and abroad, while at the same time editing and writing for numerous Orthodox journals. From 1950, he taught at Holy Trinity Seminary and wrote the original Russian version of his major work, ORTHODOX DOGMATIC THEOLOGY. In response to the circumstances and needs of contemporary Christians, he places special emphasis on the close and inseparable bond between the Church on earth and the Heavenly Church.
